Organizations
WOMEN
OF GETHSEMANE
The women of Gethsemane attend two LWMS rallies a year
(one in the spring and one in the fall). These rallies are held at a
church in our LWMS circuit. The purpose of these rallies is for fellowship
with our sister congregations, Bible study, and to encourage a heart
for missions. Throughout the year we gather money to be sent to both
the national and circuit LWMS for use on projects selected each year.
We gather a collection once a year to send to our assigned missionaries
through LWMS. Birthday and anniversary cards are also sent to our missionaries
and their children throughout the year.
GOD
IS FOR TEENS (GIFT)
The purpose of GIFT is to
give high school age students an opportunity to gather around God's Word
on a weekly basis, to learn from each other, to support one another, to
serve the Lord together and to provide God pleasing social activities.
GIFT meets for Bible study every Sunday morning at 10:45. Several social
activities are planned throughout the year and are advertised in the newsletter
and church calendar.
CHILDREN
OF GETHSEMANE
The Children of Gethsemane
is intended to provide Christian fellowship for the young people of our
congregation. Children of Gethsemane meets once per month with activities
planned throughout the year. Our meetings begin with devotion based on
God's Word. Some of these activities take place at church in the form
of Game Nights, Lock-Ins and outdoor fun; other activities include nature
hikes and trips to the zoo. The Children of Gethsemane are also encouraged
to use their gifts to serve the Lord.
MOM
AND TOTS
'Moms and Tots' is a new group
at Gethsemane. Throughout the year parents of toddlers (ages 0-6) are
encouraged to bring their children to group activities. Unlike GIFT and
Children of Gethsemane, parents (dads, you are invited too!) are encouraged
to participate in the activities. Pastor will share simple Bible stories
and truths. This is a great organization which will not only provide young
children the opportunity to grow in Jesus and to play with other children,
but it also provides parents the opportunity to interact with other moms
and dads who are raising children of similar ages.
